Attendance Policies
Saturday practices for the competition team are mandatory. Students may access one excused absence. Additional absences must be approved by both the Competition Team Coordinator (Genesis Garner) and the Studio Manager (Sara Davis).
Saturday practices are held weekly from October-December. From January-March, Saturday rehearsals are held twice a month. A schedule of practices will be distributed to team participants.
Competition team participants must take weekly classes in technique/dance conditioning and any genre in which they compete. For example: if a student competes in dance for musical theatre, they are required to take weekly classes in dance for musical theatre and technique/dance conditioning. More detail on this can be found in the parent Q&A.
Competition Team Leadership
The competition team is led by:
Genesis Garner (Team Coordinator): Conducts team practices, choreographs and cleans dances, selects music, costumes, hair & makeup, and collaborates with studio administration to strategically plan the competition season.
Laura Young (Studio Assistant Manager): Approves music selections, advises on choreography and assists with administration of competition participation.
Sara Davis (Studio Manager): Manages logistics of the competition team experience, ensures that competition team practices & culture align with studio expectations, parent & studio communications.
